With a background spanning four continents and a dozen cities, including London and Montreal, Martin Southall's experiences have branded him a deep love for music and culture.
After spending years in technical production roles, ranging from studio mastering to concert lighting design and audio engineering, Martin has finally found the perfect medium through which to share his passion for music.
He currently lives in Windsor, where he is consistently impressed and sometimes humbled by the sheer talent of local DJs, including acts like Jerzy and Stirling, Justin James, Matt Herdman, and Josh Karmin to name just a few.
Soon after he picked up his own turntables in 2007, Martin started spinning at house parties and other unusual gatherings where people wanted to hear good music. This eventually led to the launch of the private Heinz Sessions parties, where he developed a dedicated following.
Martin's musical influences cover a broad range of genres and generations:
From day one, Martin's friends have supported and suffered his compulsion for music. He couldn't have done any of this without them.
This is just the beginning for Martin Southall.
The next year will see him playing out more and more, learning from all the great talent around him, and exploring the nuances of self-promotion.
